Recommended Specifications

  • Mac OSX, Windows: 98, 2000, or XP
  • Powerbook G4 or Intel Pentium 3, Celeron or AMD Athlon
  • 256 MB of RAM
  • 500 MB of disk space

Virtual Lab Notes

     Virtual Lab benefits most from a faster CPU and a defragmented disk drive. Please refer to your operating system instructions on how to defragment your system. Your machine should be okay if it has been purchased within the past three years.

     Virtual Lab requires the JAVA 2 Runtime environment to be installed. This is included with your install package. If you wish to install it separately, visit (www.java.com)

     Virtual Lab comes with a library of samples that are already part of the package you download. Virtual Lab's development continues and additional material may become available. Please check here for updates in the future.

     There are no updates or patches at this time.

     Virtual Lab is developed at NASA Kennedy Space Center by principal investigator Berta Alfonso. Implementation and imagery were provided by The Beckman Institute at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, co-producers Glenn Fried and Benjamin Grosser.
